Make way for a new Scandinavian Band! Enter Stratosphere, a tight knit Quintet that mixes symphonic progressive and melodic rock in a manner that will leave you speechless.
The band is the brainchild of keyboard virtuoso Jeppe Lund, himself a huge fan of symphonic rock and he has dreamed of making a record such as “Fire Flight”. With Goran Edman on lead vocals; his clean, yet powerful voice is one of a kind. Goran blends perfectly in a loud music setting and excels on the neo-classical twist. Both his lead and backing vocal qualities are state of art. He has become a household name singing with bands such as Kharma, Vindictiv and, of course, with Yngwie Malmsteen. To complete the line up we have guitarist Jonas Larsen, whose nifty fretwork reminds us of Yngwie himself and Richie Blackmore. The solid rhythm section is provided by Jim McCarty on drums and Anders Borre Mathieson on bass, both of whom have had a seasoned career in the rock music industry.
Stratosphere is like a breath of fresh air and boasts a big sound with plenty of cat and mouse guitar / keyboard antics that roll along just effortlessly. They seem to capture the elements of symphonic progressive rock and mix them with melodic overtones with a sprinkle of originality just for good measure. Opener “Russian Summer” is a huge song with soaring melodies, whilst “The Battle Within” echoes the halcyon days of Rainbow. The band seem at home and play together so masterfully, one track that is worthy of extra attention is the instrumental “Rendezvous” which is one of
those songs that has loads of layered keyboards that intertwine with sumptuous guitar playing. The Haunting song “Shining Star” is a pleasure to listen to and gives a chance for Goran to show off his vocal prowess to maximum effect. The ballad “Princess of the night” is a beautifully executed piece; in fact the whole album is just a complete pleasure to listen to.
Stratosphere is a new beginning; this is Scandinavian rock music of the highest order.

DARKWATER -Press Release

Darkwater – Where Stories End
Label: Ulterium Records
Style: Heavy Metal
Release: 15. October 2010
Specials: Album mixed and mastered by Fredrik
Nordström and Henrik Udd [In Flames, Hammerfall, Dimmu Borgir] at Studio Fredman.
Darkwater was formed late 2003 in the western parts of Sweden. During the first years of existence they only did a few selected shows in Sweden while working on the material for their debut album. During summer and fall 2006, Darkwater recorded and mixed the album, and early 2007 a deal was inked with the Swedish label Ulterium Records.
"Calling the earth to witness" was released in May 2007 and received extremely good reviews from all around the world. Darkwater’s perfect blend of melodic and progressive metal was something the scene was craving for, and while taking inspiration from bands like Symphony X, Dream Theater and Evergrey, Darkwater have for sure created a sound of their own.
In May 2008 Darkwater recorded and released a music video for the track "The play II" and in June they went did their first show in the US, at the Bay Area Rock Fest together with Liquid Tension Experiment, Jeff Scott Soto among others.
During 2009 the band parted ways with their bass player Karl Wassholm, and stepping in as bass player for the band is Simon Andersson [ex. Pain of Salvation].
In April 2010 Darkwater started to record their new album "Where stories end". The famous Studio Fredman was chosen for the mix and mastering of the album, and during summer the album was completed. The band also recorded a music video for the opening track of the album "Breathe".
With all the great reviews and response for their debut album, Darkwater surely felt some pressure to produce a great follow-up album, which they managed to do without any doubts. "Where stories end" is a master piece of melodic progressive metal, and will not leave any fans of the band or the genre disappointed.

Based in New York, the post-punk/garage rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs consists of Karen O (vocals), Brian Chase (drums) and Nicolas Zinner (guitar). The trio released their self-titled debut EP in 2001—featuring angry yet sexy vocals and equally fierce guitar work and drumming. As fans awaited the band’s first full-length album, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a second super-charged EP, Machine, in 2002. After much anticipation, Fever to Tell, the band’s debut full-length, appeared in 2003 and featured a range of songs, from ballads to high-energy punk tracks. The song “Maps” became a hit for the group, receiving frequent radio play and airing as a video on MTV. Film director and music video guru Spike Jonze lent his skills to the group, directing a video for the track “Y-Control.” Yeah Yeah Yeahs have also kept a busy touring schedule, supporting bands such as the Strokes and the White Stripes, making appearances at festivals such as South by Southwest, and headlining their own tours in the U.S. and the U.K.
Similar Artists: The White Stripes, The Hives, Elastica, The Strokes.
Discovered in the wake of the Strokes’ popularity and the subsequent garage rock revival, New York’s art punk trio the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are comprised of singer Karen O, guitarist Nicolas Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase. O met Chase at Ohio’s Oberlin College and met Zinner through friends after she transferred to NYU. Zinner and O formed the band in 2000; originally, they were a folky duo called Unitard, but they went electric after being inspired by Ohio’s legendary avant punk scene. After the drummer they recruited initially bowed out, Chase joined the lineup.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs wrote a slew of songs at their first rehearsal and soon wound up supporting the Strokes and the White Stripes, earning a significant buzz for their arty yet sexy take on garage punk. In late 2001, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their self-titled debut EP, which they recorded with Boss Hog’s Jerry Teel, on their own Shifty label. Early the next year the band stepped into the international spotlight, appearing at South by Southwest, touring the U.S. with Girls Against Boys and Europe with Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and headlining their own U.K. tour. Wichita Recordings distributed the group’s EP in the U.K. and Touch and Go reissued it in the States.
In between tours, the group spent 2002 putting the finishing touches on its full-length debut and playing American dates with Sleater-Kinney, Liars, and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Late that year, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released the Machine EP to tide fans over before their first full-length. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs moved to Interscope for their debut album, 2003′s Fever to Tell. Boasting a cleaner sound and more eclectic songwriting than their EPs, the album continued their critical acclaim and also won them a fair amount of commercial success: the gorgeous ballad “Maps” became a hit in 2004 and pushed Fever to Tell to gold status that year. Karen O also moved to Los Angeles in 2004, making the Yeah Yeah Yeahs a bicoastal band.
The group took some time to pursue individual projects in 2005. O loaned her vocals to “Hello Tomorrow,” a collaboration with producer Squeak E. Clean that provided the soundtrack to a Nike shoe commercial directed by Spike Jonze, while Zinner recorded with the side project Head Wound City and also had a book of photographs, -I Hope You Are All Happy Now, published. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs reconvened in the studio that year to record their second album with Clean as producer; jokingly, Clean said that the album was about O’s cat and would be called Coco Beware, but the album’s real title, Show Your Bones, was revealed soon after. Released in spring 2006, the album was the band’s most mature, polished work yet, and reached number 11 on the album charts. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs spent the rest of the year touring in support of the album, and returned in summer 2007 with the Is Is EP, a collection of newly recorded versions of songs written in between the band’s two albums. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

ELTON JOHN, BILLY JOEL – NEW Face 2 Face tour dates for 2009 – Get your Tickets NOW on Dreamcatcher Online Event Calendars
Iconic performers Elton John and Billy Joel announced earlier this fall that they would revive their acclaimed and fast-selling Face 2 Face concert series in early 2009. Elton and Billy open the concert with a series of duets, playing twin pianos and trading vocals. Each artist then performs a set with his own band. A grand finale brings the two superstars and their supporting musicians back together for a closing encore. This includes some of both Elton and Billy’s greatest hits along with an unpredictable selection of rock and roll classics. The piano rockers have unveiled the first round of dates for their 2009 Tour on March 2 at Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL, and continues through March 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
Other highlights for the jaunt across the Southern states and West Coast include a March 17 gig at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK, and a March 19 performance at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. According to a statement released by the artists, another round of U.S. dates will follow in May and then again later in 2009. Most general on-sales for the currently confirmed dates began on Saturday, December 6, and Monday, December 8. The whole tour is expected to stretch over two years, with more North American and international dates coming sometime in 2010.
According to a statement on John’s Web site, each concert will open with a series of duets, with the “Piano Man” and “Rocket Man” seated at twin pianos and trading vocals. Joel and John will follow the title “face to face” routine with separate sets before closing the night with another joint performance backed by both artists’ supporting bands. “It’s two people for the price of one,” John said during a televised appearance on “The View” in November. “Our ticket prices are the same as you’d see anyone else, but there’s two of us. In this day and age, we hope to be getting people value for their money.” While the series is a good value for fans, the performers also enjoy the pairing, which a joint statement describes as the most successful and longest-running in pop history. Joel is quoted as saying, “The great thing about performing with Elton is that he is such a good piano player and that makes me have to dig deep to keep up with him, not to mention I’ve got the best seat in the house — only one piano away from Elton John!” Joel and John first launched their Face 2 Face tour during the 1994-95 season. The piano rockers later revived the show in 2001 with dates booked through 2003′s sold-out 24-date trek.
