The contest is open to any band, from any country and any music genre.  The open contest runs until the first week of May.  Then they are going to post the top 10 bands entire set of music for the month of May.  The band with the most votes and a 30-45 minute set list strong enough to stand up there will get a prime time slot on the Briggs & Stratton Milwaukee Summerfest Stage.  They will cover all the flight/hotel expenses for the band.

In addition to making the best engines in the world, we have a strong connection with music. Our CEO is the lead guitarist in our corporate rock band, the Briggs’ Blues Busters, and is also on the board of directors for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. We have our own stage, called the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard, at the world’s largest music festival, Summerfest. Summerfest features 11 days of music on 11 stages showcasing over 700 bands, and it takes place right in our hometown - Milwaukee, WI.

We’d like to give an undiscovered band a chance to play live at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage on June 28th. The process is simple: Enter. Vote. Win. Rock. Briggs Battle of the Bands Contest Details-Category: Music
So you wanna be a rock star? Well, here’s your chance. All you have to do is:

1. Complete the entry form .. and upload an MP3 of the song you wish to enter
2. Win over the masses and get votes
3. Voting will end on May 3 at 11:59 p.m
4. The top 10 will be notified on May 4th and have until May 8th to provide a full CD to B&S.
5. The top 3 will be selected by a panel of judges on May 12th.
6. The top 3 will be notified by e-mail by on May 15th, and their catalog of music will then be loaded onto the site.
7. Voting will reopen on May 15th and close for good June 7th at 11:59 p.m.
8. The band with the most votes will be declared the winner and will be notified June 8th.
9. The winning band will be brought into Milwaukee on June 27th, get the rock star treatment, and play a show at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard at Summerfest on June 28th.
What do we mean by rock star treatment? In addition to playing a show at the Big Gig, Summerfest, on the 28th. Your band will receive:
- Complimentary airline tickets to and from Milwaukee
- Limousine transportation
- A two-night hotel stay at one of Milwaukee’s finest hotels
- Special “Meet and Greet” before show
- Inside tour of The World’s Largest Music Festival, Summerfest
- Photos from your band’s visit and performance
- Video of your band’s performance
- CD copy of your band’s performance
