This is the final deadline, and there will be no further extensions. All entries must be mailed on or before December 1, 2008 (please note: this means that all entries must be mailed by this date, not received). ISC will also continue to take online entries, and the online submission platform will be open until 11:59 PM, EST, December 1.

ISC welcomes entries from amateur and professional songwriters, bands, duos, solo performers, and musicians. ISC accepts all original songs (even if they have previously been published, released on a CD, or entered into another competition). All songwriters retain full rights to their songs.

There are many different ways to enter ISC. You can enter by mail, online, or by MySpace. Pick the way that works best for you!

Click here to enter online or by mail.
Click here to enter on MySpace (you don’t need to send ISC your songs! ISC will go to your MySpace page and listen to the songs there).

ISC Prizes - ISC gives away over $150,000 in cash and prizes to 62 winners, including a $25,000 cash Grand Prize (the largest cash Grand Prize in any songwriting competition). ISC also gives away many other cool prizes, including: Luna guitars, Shure microphones, D’Addario strings, M-Audio studio reference monitors and keyboards, PoBoy drums, a Griffin wireless sound system and gift certificates, Sam Ash gift certificates, Thayers vocal packs, and much more.

Categories - Entrants may submit songs in any of the following categories: Pop/Top 40, AAA (Adult Album Alternative), Rock, Country, Americana, R&B/Hip-Hop, Blues, Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Jazz, Gospel/Christian, Latin Music, Instrumental, Dance/Electronica, Comedy/Novelty, World Music, Children’s Music, Lyrics Only, Teen, Performance, and Music Video. Multiple songs may be submitted in each category or the same song may be entered in more than one category.

Judges - A total of 55 high-profile music icons and industry executives have joined together to judge this year’s ISC. Consistent in its tradition of having such esteemed judges, ISC continues to raise the bar for songwriting competitions. The opportunity to have these judges hear your songs offers you an unprecedented chance to access these hard-to-reach, influential decision-makers and the movers and shakers in the music industry.
